One of the City's most highly regarded international energy practices is looking to appoint an ambitious Project Finance Associate to join its expanding London team. This is purely a growth hire as the team are busy.

This is an opportunity to become part of a genuinely sector-led practice advising on some of the most sophisticated and commercially significant energy, infrastructure and natural resources projects across the UK and internationally. The team is recognised for its strength across the full project lifecycle, acting for sponsors, lenders, developers, investment funds, development finance institutions and multinational corporates on complex, cross-border mandates spanning both established and emerging markets.

The work is exceptionally varied, with exposure across renewables, conventional power, digital infrastructure, mining and critical minerals, transport, defence and major infrastructure developments.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.

Lawyers are encouraged to build broad commercial relationships with clients whilst working alongside market-leading partners recognised as leaders in the projects space.

This opportunity would suit a Project Finance lawyer with approximately 2–5 years' PQE gained at a leading UK or international firm, with strong experience in project finance and a genuine interest in the sectors shaping the global economy and energy transition.

What makes this role particularly compelling is the balance it offers. The quality of work is firmly at the top end of the market, yet the culture remains collaborative, collegiate and their lawyers enjoy genuine flexibility, excellent partner access and the opportunity to develop within a growing global platform where investment in both the team and the practice is clear to see.
