FTC 12 months, Full time, Hybrid.

The MDU is in year 3 of a 4 year transformation process to both drive a better customer experience and more efficient processes via system investment and ways of working.

We are now in the delivery phase of the key projects, we have the need for a Project Finance Business Partner resource with sufficient experience, gravitas and drive to partner key stakeholders and ensure financial control, compliant spend and evaluate value for money.

Key Activities/Accountabilities

  • Deliver Finance business support to the Programme Management Office, key Project managers and Programme leads
  • Own and deliver month end accounting process for relevant projects, accruals forecasts and variance analysis
  • Provide control point for project spend and verify that spend or commitment is in budget, monitor and understand the impact of Statement of Work and similar agreements
  • Monitor use of project resource, particularly short term flexible resource to ensure not retained for too long
  • Deliver consolidated project reporting at the relevant level for each stakeholder group, e.g. Executive, Programme Board, Project Board

  • Evidenced Project accounting and reporting experience
  • Experience building financial models and forecasts.
  • Experience of business case and investment appraisal analysis
  • Experience of a transformation programme including significant IT investment
  • Ideally to have financial services sector knowledge/experience.
  • Qualified accountant. (ACCA/CIMA)
  • Excellent IT/system skills.
