Project Lead
Location: London / Sheffield (Hybrid Working Model)
Salary: £104,000 per annum
Contract: 12 Months
As Project Lead for the EU Pay Transparency Directive (EU PTD) programme, you will lead a coordinated, cross-functional response to evolving pay transparency legislation across the EU.
You will deliver practical and sustainable solutions that meet regulatory requirements, manage risk and support a culture of equity and transparency. Working with People, Legal, Communications, Technology, country teams and external specialists, you will align stakeholders around shared outcomes, guiding principles and risk-based decisions.
This is a delivery and orchestration role. You will engage the appropriate subject matter experts, translate advice into clear decisions and connect actions across the programme. Success requires strong stakeholder management, structured delivery, governance expertise and the ability to influence across a complex organisational environment.
Key Responsibilities

- Lead integrated delivery of the EU PTD response across relevant countries and entities in partnership with programme sponsors and specialist teams.
- Own the project view of objectives, scope, outcomes, principles, milestones, risks, dependencies and critical path.
- Translate evolving regulatory requirements into coordinated delivery plans, practical options and recommendations with subject matter experts.
- Facilitate timely, risk-based and principles-led decision making.
- Maintain programme momentum despite legislative uncertainty.
- Challenge delivery approaches that may create risk, delay or unnecessary rework.
- Embed transparency, accountability, inclusion, agility and continuous improvement throughout programme delivery.
Stakeholder Management & Cross-Functional Alignment
- Build trusted relationships with senior leaders, country representatives, People teams, Technology teams, Delivery Services and external specialists.
- Support leaders in navigating the cultural and behavioural changes associated with pay transparency.
- Provide concise, evidence-based updates on progress, risks, decisions and priorities.
- Facilitate constructive challenge and align differing country and functional perspectives.
- Bring together the right stakeholders to design, test, deploy and embed solutions.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
