Project Lead Engineer
Altrad are currently looking for an experienced Project Lead Engineer to join the team.
As a Project Lead Engineer, you will act as the technical authority for civil, structural and marine interfaces, ensuring that access arrangements, supporting infrastructure and associated works are safe, compliant, fit for purpose and delivered in accordance with approved requirements, standards and design intent.

Key Deliverables
- Lead engineering work packages and multidisciplinary interfaces.
- Provide technical guidance and deputise for the Engineering Manager.
- Define scopes, requirements, design criteria and acceptance criteria.
- Support optioneering, feasibility studies, surveys and ECI activities.
- Review and approve technical designs, calculations, drawings and substantiation.
- Ensure designs address safety, stability, fatigue, durability, constructability and design life.
- Manage detailed design to applicable standards, legislation and site requirements.
- Assess consultant and contractor deliverables, including RAMS and technical documentation.
- Lead design reviews, workshops and interface meetings, driving actions to closure.
- Provide technical oversight through fabrication, construction, commissioning and handover.
- Resolve technical queries, design changes and non-conformances.
- Liaise with project teams, contractors, operators, maintainers and OEMs.
- Ensure compliance with EHS, security, quality and project requirements.

Key Requirements / Qualifications
Essential
- Chartered Engineer status, or demonstrable progress towards chartership supported by continuing professional development.
- Substantial civil / structural engineering experience across concept, detailed design, construction, commissioning and handover.
- Demonstrable ability to review and technically assure structural calculations, design reports, drawings, specifications and engineering substantiation.
- Knowledge and application of current UK legislation, British Standards, Eurocodes and relevant civil / structural and marine engineering good practice.
- Experience leading engineering work packages, coordinating multi-discipline interfaces and managing requirements, technical risk and change.
- Experience of site implementation, construction assurance and confirming compliance with design intent in a highly regulated environment.
- Ability to work autonomously, make proportionate engineering judgements and communicate effectively with
Desirable
- Experience of structural assessment of existing assets, intrusive surveys, material condition assessment and development of repair or refurbishment solutions.
- Knowledge of nuclear safety cases, safety-classified structures, systems and components, and nuclear safety committee / authorisation arrangements.
- Experience of BIM-enabled delivery, configuration management and requirements management.
