Project Lead

We're looking for an experienced Project Lead to take ownership of the successful delivery of complex, high-value projects and programmes. This is more than a project management role. You'll be the trusted day-to-day lead for clients, bringing confidence, commercial awareness and exceptional delivery leadership to every engagement.

You'll work closely with Client Partners, creative specialists and consultants to translate ambitious ideas into clear delivery plans, ensuring projects are delivered on time, on budget and to the high standards we're known for.

What you'll be doing

  • Leading project delivery
    • Taking ownership of complex, multi-workstream projects from initial brief through to completion.
    • Creating and managing integrated project plans, timelines, dependencies and delivery milestones.
    • Coordinating multidisciplinary teams and external partners to ensure smooth delivery.
    • Maintaining momentum, solving problems and driving projects forward with confidence.
    • Ensuring work meets client expectations and quality standards before it goes live

  • Building trusted client relationships

    • Acting as the senior day-to-day lead for project delivery.
    • Building strong relationships with stakeholders at all levels.
    • Facilitating meetings, workshops and governance sessions.
    • Managing challenging conversations around scope, budgets, priorities and timelines.
    • Working in partnership with Client Partners to strengthen client relationships and identify opportunities for growth.
  • Managing commercial performance

    • Owning project budgets, forecasts and financial reporting.
    • Protecting project profitability through effective scope and resource management.
    • Leading change control processes and proactively managing commercial risk.
    • Contributing delivery expertise to proposals and scopes of work.
  • Driving delivery excellence

    • Managing project risks, issues and governance.
    • Mentoring Project Managers and sharing best practice.
    • Improving ways of working, tools and delivery approaches.
    • Supporting resource planning and helping teams perform at their best.

What we're looking for

You'll likely have significant experience leading complex projects or programs within a consultancy, agency or similarly fast-paced client services environment.

You'll bring:

  • Proven experience managing large, multi-disciplinary projects and stakeholder groups.
  • Excellent client relationship and stakeholder management skills.
  • Strong commercial awareness, including budgeting, forecasting and change control.
  • The confidence to lead conversations, challenge constructively and make sound decisions.
  • Exceptional planning, organisation and risk management skills.
  • A calm, solutions-focused approach when working under pressure.
  • Experience using project planning and reporting tools, including detailed timelines and Gantt charts.

Location: Hybrid (York / London / Remote UK)

Salary: £40 - £45k per annum
