Location: Crewe, United Kingdom – on-site

Design Consulting is looking for an experienced Resident Project Leader – Body in White & Closures to support Current Model Production activities for a premium automotive manufacturer in Crewe.

The technical perimeter includes Body in White structures, platforms, fenders, bonnet, doors, tailgate, add-on parts, paint, sealing and damping.

The selected professional will act as the main interface between the customer and the engineering team, coordinating technical activities, priorities, meetings and project deliverables.

Your responsibilities

  • Coordinate Body in White and Closures engineering activities
  • Manage Current Model Production issues and engineering changes
  • Support root-cause analysis and develop technically feasible solutions
  • Coordinate containment actions, validation activities and vehicle line trials
  • Manage BoM updates, permits, engineering changes and product releases
  • Coordinate engineering teams, production departments, suppliers and other stakeholders
  • Lead weekly project meetings and cross-functional technical reviews
  • Monitor project timing, costs, risks, priorities and open actions
  • Present technical solutions and project status to customer management
  • Ensure compliance with customer processes, quality standards and project milestones

MUST-HAVE REQUIREMENTS

  • At least 5 years of professional experience on Bentley automotive projects
  • Strong technical experience in Body in White and/or vehicle closures
  • Good knowledge of Volkswagen Group development processes, standards and engineering systems
  • Proven experience coordinating automotive engineering projects and cross-functional teams
  • Fluent or native-level English – minimum C1
  • Availability to work on-site in Crewe
  • Eligibility to work in the United Kingdom

Preferred

  • Experience with Bentley Current Model Production processes
  • Knowledge of CATIA, LCA and/or Teamcenter
  • Experience with components such as body structures, platforms, fenders, bonnet, doors or tailgate
  • Familiarity with Permit, ECR, B/K Release, KPM, BoM and PDM processes
  • Knowledge of manufacturing feasibility, joining management and production line trials
  • Current residence in the United Kingdom, ideally within commuting distance of Crewe
  • Availability for occasional business travel
