Project Management Apprentice - Job Overview

We are seeking an enthusiastic and motivated individual to join our team as an Project Management Apprentice. The successful candidate will be exposed to project delivery activities across the engineering lifecycle (cradle to grave) spanning; concept definition and requirements, engineering through development, test, trials and release and subsequent support activity.

They will be assisted by experienced personnel throughout their apprenticeship, helping them understand the various IT systems we maintain and ensure learning to be proficient project manager who can work on any projects within our organisation.

If you are passionate about project management, possess excellent problem-solving skills, and have a desire to continuously learn and grow, we want to hear from you!

Required Skills

  • Grade 4 or above (C or above) GCSEs in English and Mathematics
  • Basic knowledge of software tools and systems.
  • Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to troubleshoot issues.
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Eagerness to learn and develop skills in the IT Software industry.
  • Enthusiasm towards learning and thinking creatively to solve problems
  • Possess Self-motivation
  • Ability to work well within a team environment
  • Ability to prioritise own tasking to meet project needs
  • Problem determination & resolution
  • An appreciation of financial, risks and opportunity management aspects

As a new starter you will participate in a UK government accredited structured educational/work program between the company and an accredited training program directly related to skills required by the company. You will not be expected to know the technologies and software we use from day one, however we will expect you to be keen to learn!

Role and Responsibilities

The Project Management Apprentice will be responsible for Project Tasks as assigned by their Project Management Office (PMO) Manager for the EMEA region.

The Project Management Apprentice will report and be under the general direction of the PMO manager for the EMEA region.

Position Responsibilities Include, But Are Not Limited To

  • Be involved in all aspects of the Project Management process, methods and techniques to initiate and execute projects to meet strategic objectives.
  • Support the PMO team and customers during project proposal phases and capture.
  • Support the PMO team in preparing the Project Charter, Project Execution plan and Monitoring progress.
  • Be involved in project governance structure including; communications, reporting, meetings structure.
  • Support the PMO team with the day to day project delivery against the requirements to a range of customers.
  • Using the Project Management tool maintain, update and report on key project data and work the PMO team by identifying any potential issues as the project progresses.
