The Southern Renewals Enterprise (SRE) is responsible for delivering the Southern Region’s renewals programme across Control Periods 7 and 8 (2024–2034), representing an investment of approximately £9 billion.

About The Role

To provide effective project coordination and administrative support to the Project Delivery team, enabling the safe, efficient, and compliant delivery of works in line with Network Rail's Project Acceleration in a Controlled Environment (PACE) framework.

This role supports strong governance through accurate reporting, structured processes, and proactive monitoring of project performance, ensuring delivery to time, cost, and quality standards within a live operational railway environment, while adhering to Network Rail standards and all applicable legislation, including CDM Regulations.

Key Accountabilities

  • Work as part of a collaborative project team, supporting the safe and environmentally responsible delivery of projects to time, cost, and quality across all phases.
  • Demonstrate strong organisation and prioritisation skills, effectively coordinating project activities across multiple workstreams to meet deadlines and delivery requirements.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date project trackers for cost, schedule, risks, issues, and actions, ensuring consistency and integrity in reporting.
  • Coordinate project meetings, including scheduling, preparing materials, taking minutes, and proactively tracking actions through to completion.
  • Engage positively with stakeholders across operational, engineering, and management teams to support effective communication and alignment.
  • Build effective working relationships with contractors and framework suppliers.
  • Ensure a high level of attention to detail across all documentation and reporting, supporting compliant and effective project delivery.

Drugs And Alcohol Standard

Our Drugs and Alcohol Standard has changed. All prospective candidates who have not been offered a conditional role will be required to undergo and pass a drugs and alcohol test. Your application will be rescinded if you record a positive test. All positive drugs and alcohol test results for prospective candidates will be securely held on Sentinel database and a 5 year suspension from applying for a safety critical role, a role which requires PTS certification or a Key Safety role on Network Rail Managed Infrastructure will be enforced.

Salary

circa £31,000–£36,000 plus inner London Allowance £3,270.

Essential

Your experience and skills

  • Some management experience including project management.
  • Educated to HND/HNC or similar standard.
  • HSQE awareness, issues and principles.

Desirable

  • Membership (or working towards membership of) the Association for Project Management.
  • A degree or equivalent.
  • Knowledge of safety, quality, environmental, commercial and financial aspects.
  • Understanding of possession planning.
