With Innovation set to play a more vital role in the future growth of Twinings, we are looking for an experienced project management leader to step change the way we approach development and delivery of consumer-centric experiences as an organisation, from a project management perspective, with an initial priority area of product and pack innovation.
We are looking for a PMO Innovation Specialist with the agility to apply different methodologies and consumer-centric, design-led thinking.
Please note: This role is a fixed term 18 month contract with a possibility of becoming permanent but this cannot be guaranteed
Key Responsibilities
- Work in partnership with Innovation Director, R&D Director, Technical Director, Innovation excellence Workstream lead and business units to create an organisational design for the project management function that is fit for purpose to deliver our innovation pipeline which includes different types of innovation project and future proof its design.
- Be a key partner in shaping the future of how our organisation sets itself up to succeed in develop and delivering Twinings significant innovation and consumer experience agenda.
- Working with functional leads and seeking ‘look outside’ inspiration to define what are best in class capabilities, skills and behaviours for the Innovation project management function going forward.
- Be an agent for change, driving forward continuous improvement and working closely with the Outcompete change lead to mobilise and embed functional and cultural change.
- Leadership of the project management community to deliver best practice in project management for the delivery of NPD from concept to implementation, putting the consumer at our heart of everything we do.
- Working with the Innovation excellence workstream lead, establish an effective Project management office (PMO) using Izone as a key enabling tool (our pipeline planning and project tool), including establishing a way to prioritise project pipelines to ensure we are working on the right projects at the right time with the right resource.
- Working with the Head of Packaging and Project Delivery, ensure that the SW project delivery team are connected in with ways of working through the Project management community.
- Develop the project management knowledge and use of project delivery methodologies, with particular focus on Agile project delivery process.
- Using design led thinking tools, already existing in the business, train relevant project managers and workstream leads to use the approach and tools to deliver consumer centric ideas into development and delivery.
- Continuously improve the stage gate process to ensure maximum efficiency and the right level of flexibility and agility in the process and empower stakeholders throughout the process.
- Embed and maximise the use of the PPM tool into our business and our teams; optimising its functionality and continually evolving the future state of Project and Portfolio delivery
- Create, monitor and communicate key KPIs via dashboards on a monthly basis to key stakeholders and maintain an oversight of live projects and provide regular status updates to the senior management team.
- Accountability for project planning, delivery, and governance of projects to ensure successful project outcomes. Identifying and implementing a best practise approach to project, programme, and portfolio management practices.
- Ensure accurate resource management of all projects, highlighting in advance any expected periods of peak demand, to ensure appropriate resourcing is assigned to a project.
- Evaluate, highlight, and facilitate the resolution of potential barriers to project progression and support the process of continuous improvement of projects with the aim to reduce cost, improve quality and increase efficiency and pace.

- Highly experienced in setting, measuring and communicating KPIs to deliver results
- Ability to manage risk effective.
- Prince 2 Agile desirable.
- Experience in designing a capability framework in a transformational environment.
