Job Description
Ready to lead, coordinate and deliver real impact on one of the UK’s most ambitious infrastructure projects? At EDF, Success is Personal. Join our Project Management Industrial Placement and gain hands-on experience while helping shape the future of low-carbon energy.
The Opportunity
This Project Management Industrial Placement is expected to begin in early September 2027 and offers a starting salary of £26,050, with the opportunity to work at the Hinkley Point C construction site and Satellite Delivery Centre in Bridgwater.
During this 12-month placement, you'll gain hands-on experience supporting the delivery of one of Europe's largest infrastructure projects. Working alongside experienced professionals, you'll develop valuable leadership, coordination and problem-solving skills while contributing to a business that's driving the transition towards An Electric Britain.
What You’ll Experience
Being part of Hinkley Point C means helping to shape the future of low-carbon energy. You'll contribute to a project that will provide clean electricity for millions of homes while supporting the UK's energy security.
During your Project Management Industrial Placement, you'll be immersed in practical learning and supported by mentors and collaborative teams. You'll gain exposure to project delivery activities, helping teams manage risks, coordinate stakeholders, monitor progress and support the successful delivery of major project milestones.
During the available placements, you'll gain hands-on experience supporting major projects across Hinkley Point C, from manufacturing contracts and construction delivery to commissioning activities. Working with multidisciplinary teams, contractors and stakeholders, you'll help plan, coordinate and deliver complex engineering work while developing core project management, problem-solving and leadership skills. You'll also contribute to safety improvement initiatives and, in some placements, support Site Nuclear Compliance activities that help ensure compliance with Nuclear Site Licence requirements, planning permissions and lease obligations.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
