Location: Manchester/ Droitwich
Contract: Starting July 2027, 13-month Fixed Term Contract
Hours/Shift Pattern: 8am - 5pm, Monday to Friday (flexibility will be required)

Who is Müller Milk & Ingredients?
Müller Milk & Ingredients (MMI) is the UK’s largest producer of branded and private label fresh milk, cream, butter, and dairy ingredients. As part of Müller UK & Ireland, MMI supplies around 30% of Britain’s fresh milk and operates a nationwide network of dairies and depots.
We work with over 1,300 British farmers to transform milk into a wide range of products, including Müller Milk and dairy ingredients used by food manufacturers and retailers. MMI is committed to sustainability, innovation, and building a better future for dairy—investing in reducing food waste and improving environmental efficiency across our operations.
What You'll Be Doing
Müller is seeking a dynamic and motivated Project Management Intern to join our team. As a leading FMCG company, project management plays a critical role in driving efficiency, innovation, and growth. This is an exciting opportunity for a student to gain hands-on experience in managing diverse business projects, support the delivery of key strategic initiatives, and build knowledge across a diverse range of stakeholder functions.
At Müller, we take Project Management seriously. Our Commercial Project Team oversees project methodologies, tools, and training, while managing large-scale, complex projects such as launching new manufacturing lines, releasing innovative new products, or implementing cost-saving initiatives across the business. As an intern, you’ll be part of a business function, working closely with teams to define, plan, and execute impactful projects.

Key Tasks & Responsibilities
- Project Identification: Collaborate with local business teams to identify potential projects that drive value for the business.
- Planning & Analysis: Perform initial project scoping and engage with other departments to support detailed planning activities.
- Project Management: Develop and track comprehensive project plans, manage key milestones, and understand project dependencies.
- Methodology & Tools: Follow Müller’s established project methodology and utilize tools such as the Clarity PM system.
- Risk & Issue Management: Proactively identify and manage project risks, ensuring timely resolution of any issues.
- Stakeholder Reporting: Regularly update stakeholders on project progress and performance.
- Team Collaboration & Relationship Building: Provide support to senior project managers and the wider stakeholder team within projects.
- Collaborative Group Projects: Work alongside other placement students on a group project, enhancing teamwork and problem-solving skills.
What We're Looking For
This placement is ideal for students with a passion for project management, who are eager to learn and contribute to real-world business projects. We’re seeking university students who are on track to achieve a 2:1 and above and are looking for a placement year role.
- Career Interest: Strong interest in pursuing a career in Project Management.
- Clear and Respectful Communication Skills: Both written and verbal. The ability to express ideas effectively, listen actively, and tailor communication to different audiences and contexts.
- Research and Analysis: Ability to understand and analyze audience needs.
- Problem Solving: Innovative thinking and solution-oriented approach.
- Initiative and Teamwork: Capability to work independently and collaboratively.
- Organizational Skills: Effective time management and high attention to detail.
- Project Management: Experience or aptitude in managing projects.
- Strong Numeracy and Analytical Skills: Making data-driven decisions to solve problems efficiently.
- Technical Proficiency: Competence with Microsoft Office and digital tools.
- UK Driving License: Must hold a full UK driving license for at least one year.
- UK Residency: Eligibility to work in the UK (Please note this role is not eligible for sponsorship as the salary falls below the required threshold.)
