Portfolio Reporting Manager
Location: London or Birmingham
Type: Permanent
Security Clearance: Eligible to obtain SC clearance
Hybrid: 2 days on site per week
A public sector organisation is currently recruiting for 6 Portfolio Reporting Managers (5 in London and 1 in Birmingham) on a permanent basis to join a large, nationally significant organisation delivering complex technology, change and transformation programmes.
This is an exciting opportunity to play a pivotal role within a Portfolio Management Office (PMO), supporting the governance, reporting and oversight of a substantial portfolio of projects and programmes.
Working closely with senior stakeholders, programme teams and project managers, you will be responsible for developing and managing high-quality portfolio reporting, supporting governance forums, monitoring performance, and ensuring key decisions, actions and changes are effectively tracked and controlled.
The successful candidate will receive a Civil Service Pension (28.97% employer contribution) and generous annual leave of 28 days + bank holidays (rising to 33 days after 5 years service).

Key Responsibilities
- Produce accurate and insightful portfolio reporting, dashboards and governance packs.
- Manage reporting cycles and ensure timely submission of project and programme updates.
- Provide meaningful analysis across delivery performance, milestones, risks, issues, benefits, finances and resource data.
- Support governance boards through agenda management, decision tracking and comprehensive minute-taking.
- Manage portfolio-level change control processes and maintain robust audit trails.
- Develop and improve reporting standards, templates, guidance and best practices.
- Work collaboratively with project and programme teams to ensure consistency of reporting across the portfolio.
- Provide coaching and support to stakeholders on governance and reporting requirements.
- Identify opportunities to improve reporting processes, controls and management information.
About You
You will be an experienced PMO or portfolio professional with a strong background in governance, reporting and change control within complex programme environments.

- Experience delivering reporting within project, programme or portfolio management environments.
- Strong knowledge of governance processes and escalation management.
- Experience implementing reporting frameworks and change control mechanisms.
- Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills.
- Strong analytical abilities with the capability to turn data into clear management information.
- Exceptional organisational skills and attention to detail.
- Advanced Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint skills.
- Experience coaching and influencing stakeholders to adopt standards and best practices.
- Knowledge of recognised project and programme management methodologies such as PRINCE2, MSP or P3O.
Qualifications
Ideally, you will hold some of the following:
- P3O Practitioner (or equivalent)
- PRINCE2 Foundation
- PRINCE2 Agile Foundation
Additional programme, risk or planning qualifications would be advantageous.
