Project Manager – Healthcare & Laboratory Automation
Position Type: 12-Month Fixed-Term Contract
Hours: Full-time (37.5 hours per week)
Location: Hybrid (2 days working from home per week) with on-site travel to different locations.
Travel & Expenses: Fully covered, includes daily lunch allowance, parking, and business travel expenses
Role Overview
We are seeking an experienced Project Manager to join a high-performing, collaborative team of four. Stepping into this role following an internal promotion, you will take ownership of a diverse portfolio of active projects centered around complex medical pathology and laboratory automation solutions.
This is a dynamic, high-impact position responsible for end-to-end IT delivery, engineer orchestration, and stakeholder engagement across key sites in Cardiff and Essex. You will drive standardization, ensure seamless solution implementations, and safeguard commercial timelines.
Key Responsibilities
- End-to-End Project Delivery: Lead complex standalone and automation projects from inception to completion, ensuring all milestones are met to unlock key commercial billing targets (TOR).
- Governance & Best Practice: Drive account governance, compliance, and standardized PM methodology across internal teams, external customers, and third-party suppliers.
- Process Optimization: Identify opportunities to improve efficiency, standardization, and effectiveness in project tools, workflows, and tender responses (RFPs/RFIs).
- Stakeholder & Resource Leadership: Coordinate cross-functional internal teams, field engineers, and client-side leads. Facilitate periodic governance forums, progress reviews, and technical workshops.
- Implementation Strategy: Manage resource allocation, installation schedules, and Go-Live execution to ensure seamless deployment at Key Account sites.

Candidate Profile & Qualifications
Qualifications
- Certifications: PRINCE2 (Practitioner), PMP, or equivalent formal project management certification. Lean Six Sigma (Green/Black Belt) is highly advantageous.
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Healthcare Technology, Marketing, or a related field (or equivalent professional experience).

Experience & Technical Skills
- Industry Experience: 3–5 years of proven track record managing complex projects within the diagnostics, medical technology, or laboratory automation sectors.
- Technical Aptitude: Strong background overseeing IT infrastructure integration, software delivery, and engineering deployments.
- Travel Flexibility: Willingness and capability to travel to customer sites in Cardiff and Essex up to 3 days per week.

- Communication & Influence: Exceptional verbal, written, and presentation skills with the ability to build trust and negotiate effectively with multi-level stakeholders.
- Cross-Functional Leadership: Demonstrated capability to motivate, align, and direct matrixed teams, virtual networks, and external vendors.
- Resilience & Problem Solving: Proven ability to navigate organizational complexity, remove project roadblocks, and maintain momentum under pressure.
- Languages: Full professional fluency in English is required; additional European languages are a plus.
