The Role

As a Project Manager in our UK Defence business you will be involved in a wide variety of exciting projects and programmes delivering pioneering defence innovation and capability for industry and government.

Day-to-day, you will be responsible for leading multiple projects from initial business or customer engagement through to completion, ensuring they are delivered on time, within budget, and aligned with business objectives. You will provide effective project leadership, while managing a diverse range of internal and external stakeholders to ensure commitments are met and risks are effectively managed.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Delivery of multiple projects ensuring they are delivered on time, within budget, and aligned with business objectives
  • Develop and manage project plans, schedules, budgets, and resource allocations
  • Identify, assess, and mitigate project risks and issues
  • Lead cross-functional teams and provide guidance to team members
  • Development and maintain relationships with customers, suppliers and all project stakeholders

Essential experience of the Project Manager:

Requires proven track record in delivering technical projects, dealing with demanding timescales, uncertainty and risk. Experience of delivering the breadth of project management methodologies
Demonstrable ability to manage multiple stakeholders simultaneously with sound communication skills
Experience delivering multiple projects for multiple customers simultaneously

Desirable qualifications for the Project Manager:

Demonstrable capability to APM PMQ or equivalent

This role is 37 hours per week and is based out of our Boscombe Down facility in Salisbury. This role will require you to be onsite 3 days per week on average.

Boscombe Down

MOD Boscombe Down is a unique operational site featuring the longest military runway in the UK. Primarily focusing on providing testing, evaluation and support services for aviation and aerospace systems. Renowned for its extensive flight-testing capabilities the site plays a vital role in the UK’s aviation defence contributing to the development, testing and airworthiness of military aircraft enhancing operational readiness and effectiveness.

Please note that all applicants for this role must be eligible for SC clearance, as a minimum.
