This isn’t just a typical investment project – you'll be working across physical improvement works, large-scale nature conservation initiatives, in-depth community engagement and partnership, and inspiring interpretation of the social, cultural and natural heritage in Divis and the Black Mountain, as part of our NI Urban team in Northern Ireland.
You'll work closely with the teams who manage the day-to-day operation of these special places and will have the support of a project board and governance process to assist you.
Your base location will be the office hub of Belmont Tower, Belfast or Rowallane Garden, Saintfield, but there will be hybrid working arrangements with a balance of office, property and remote working.
What it's like to work here
The NI Urban Portfolio is a thriving, diverse and special collection of places ranging from the Greater Belfast Area, stretching from the windswept coastlines of Islandmagee, to the stunning Derrymore House in Bessbrook.
We look after around 3100 acres of countryside across the edges of Belfast City Centre, including the 2600-acre Divis and The Black Mountain which is where this project work is focused.
Divis and The Black Mountain, situated on the edge of North and West Belfast, forms a backdrop to the city, often overlooked due to the lack of access from the city which sits under its shadow.

What you'll be doing
We've secured grant funding and investment in Divis and the Black Mountain totalling over £6million across 5 years. This investment is enabling us to further our transformational work on landscape scale nature recovery community engagement and investment in our physical infrastructure.
You'll be leading the day-to-day delivery of these projects, including managing the mobilisation and implementation of Phase 2 of our Peatland Restoration Project, co-ordination of Wildfire Management Plan and Risk Assessment, through to delivery of the Construction phase of capital works which are currently underway.

You'll be working across physical improvement works, large-scale nature conversation initiatives, in-depth community engagement and partnership, and inspiring interpretation of the social, cultural and natural heritage.
You'll have a small project team to support you, with the ability to draw on the expertise of your colleagues in our Nature & Urban team, Specialist Delivery Team and Nationally, as well as to appoint third-party suppliers. You'll also be balancing the need to deliver the project work alongside the day-to-day operations and existing initiatives that are continuing.
Who we're looking for
We’d Love To Hear From You If You're
- able to demonstrate experience of successfully delivering complex end to end project/programme management, including defining resources, leading procurement securing project teams and matrix management across multiple projects/programmes
- a Professional with technical knowledge and skills in project management demonstrated by a recognised project or programme management qualification such as (AMP Project Management Qualification (PMQ) / APM Chartership / MSP /Prince).
- able to evidence ongoing CPD in your career to date
- a flexible thinker and problem-solver, skilled at negotiating and building productive networks, and confident in using your expertise to influence decisions with senior leaders
- a skilled communicator, with experience of managing complex and challenging situations with competing interests and a diverse range of people
- a leader for inclusion, who finds ways to create an inclusive culture
Experience of Client Project Management experience for delivery of Construction / Capital Works
