Project Manager – RF, Microwave & Advanced Engineering
Location: County Durham
Salary: £60,000 + Excellent Benefits
We're working with an established engineering business at the forefront of RF, microwave and mmWave technology, supplying cutting-edge solutions into sectors including Defence, Aerospace, Space and Telecommunications.
Due to continued growth and a strong pipeline of new projects, they're looking to appoint an experienced Project Manager to join their Programme Management team.
This is an excellent opportunity for someone who enjoys leading technically challenging engineering projects, working closely with multidisciplinary teams to deliver innovative products from initial concept through to customer acceptance.
The Role
As Project Manager, you'll take ownership of multiple engineering projects, ensuring they are delivered safely, on schedule, within budget and to the highest quality standards.
Working alongside Engineering, Manufacturing, Procurement, Quality and Commercial teams, you'll play a key role in coordinating project activities, managing customer expectations and ensuring successful project delivery throughout the entire product lifecycle.

Key responsibilities include:
- Managing engineering projects from concept through to final delivery.
- Developing and maintaining project plans, schedules and key milestones.
- Coordinating cross-functional teams across Engineering, Manufacturing, Procurement and Quality.
- Monitoring project performance, budgets and delivery timescales.
- Identifying and mitigating project risks while resolving issues as they arise.
- Producing regular project reports and communicating progress to customers and senior stakeholders.
- Supporting programme reviews, technical meetings and customer engagement activities.
- Building strong working relationships with customers, suppliers and internal teams.
- Ensuring projects are delivered in line with commercial, technical and quality objectives.
About You
We're keen to speak with experienced Project Managers who have successfully delivered complex engineering or technology projects within highly regulated or advanced manufacturing environments.
You'll ideally have experience in:
- Managing complex engineering or manufacturing projects.
- Leading multidisciplinary project teams.
- Project planning, scheduling and risk management.
- Stakeholder and customer management.
- Budget control and project reporting.
- Using project management tools such as Microsoft Project, Jira or similar.
- Managing multiple projects simultaneously in a fast-paced environment.

Desirable Experience
Experience within one or more of the following sectors would be highly advantageous:
- Defence
- Aerospace
- Space
- Satellite Communications
- RF & Microwave Technologies
- Radar Systems
- Electronics
- Advanced Manufacturing
Project management qualifications such as PRINCE2, APMP or PMP are desirable, along with an engineering or scientific degree, although equivalent industry experience will also be considered.
