What the role involves

As a Project Manager, you will lead the successful delivery of a range of projects, taking full responsibility for project lifecycle management, stakeholder engagement and achieving agreed performance, time and cost objectives.

Leading and developing multi-disciplinary teams, you will manage the planning, scheduling and delivery of projects while ensuring outputs are delivered within agreed performance, timescales and budgets.

You will also oversee project risks, maintain project documentation and ensure delivery is achieved through the most cost-effective and efficient approach while mitigating risks and maximising opportunities.

Additionally, you will:

  • Engage with clients and stakeholders throughout the project lifecycle
  • Maintain project artefacts, documentation and configuration control
  • Ensure compliance with quality assurance, governance and policy requirements
  • Oversee cost control, financial management and earned value management
  • Co-ordinate weekly, monthly and quarterly project review meetings
  • Manage project documentation, storage and SharePoint sites

Who we are looking for

To be considered as a Project Manager, you will need:

  • At least five years’ project management experience, covering multiple projects
  • Evidence of delivering large to semi-complex projects, multiple simple projects or elements of complex accounts, using trusted project methodology principles, tools and techniques
  • Experience leading projects across a range of business contexts
  • Evidence of being able to manage all stages of the project lifecycle, including the development and delivery of Business Cases, Project Management and Task Execution Plans and Cost Control
  • Full understanding of Information Management practices
  • Proven competency in Microsoft Office software and other project support tooling
  • To be highly organised with effective management of tasking
  • Strong attention to detail and proven problem-solving skills, including the ability to analyse complex issues and provide workable solutions to ensure time, cost, quality and risk are minimised
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, and the ability to manage complex stakeholder groups
  • The ability to work independently and as part of a team across multiple work streams
  • A Project Management qualification – APM PMQ or equivalent

Other organisations may call this role Senior Project Manager, Programme Manager, Project Delivery Manager, Project Lead, Project Delivery Lead, Senior Project Co-ordinator, or Technical Project Manager.

Successful applicants will be required to be security cleared prior to appointment.
