  • Shape HSQE culture and digital engineering adoption
  • Gain exposure to large-scale HV systems (400kV/275kV/132kV) with clear scope ownership, autonomy, and progression

Your duties and responsibilities will be

  • Lead and manage HV cable and HV plant subcontractors to deliver works in compliance with contractual, technical, and HS&E requirements.
  • Manage HV and MEP designer activities and deliverables to the agreed programme; track inputs/outputs and report progress to senior leadership.
  • Act as the technical lead for all HV works, including design reviews, interface management, and challenge/closeout of non-conformances.
  • Coordinate design queries, comments, and actions from workshops/meetings; raise RFIs and maintain robust records.
  • Maintain the design deliverables schedule; review monthly designer reports; produce monthly design progress and performance reports.
  • Ensure compliance with design management processes and documentation control; manage provision of drawings to the project team.
  • Oversee BIM requirements for permanent and temporary works in conjunction with BIM/CAD specialists.

  • Commercial management: define work scopes and programmes; support procurement; agree monthly subcontract accounts and variations; issue formal instructions; forecast cost and value and close gaps with action plans.
  • Contract management: ensure compliance with legal, company, and environmental obligations; lead management of HV/LV subcontractors and suppliers.
  • Project management: produce and maintain the integrated management plan, resource plans, and resourced programme; coordinate with planning; set and monitor production targets; drive continuous improvement and value.
  • Risk and opportunity: actively participate in risk management, maintaining registers and using project tools to monitor and mitigate.
  • Assurance: promote high standards in Health, Safety, Environmental, Sustainability and Quality; investigate incidents and close actions.
  • Change control: maintain detailed knowledge of scope and instructed change; identify and evidence uninstructed change; support the commercial team with timely records.
  • Administration and reporting: manage stakeholder relationships; ensure controlled distribution of approved documents; contribute to periodic project reports, payment applications, programme updates, and handover documentation; ensure data is entered into compliance and document control systems.
  • Additional duties commensurate with role seniority, including supporting recruitment and development of engineers, and promoting best practice across procedures, method statements, ITPs, and digital engineering.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
