We are currently looking for a Project Manager to join our team at Botanic Place, Cambridge, who will lead the day-to-day delivery of a specific discipline package on a large, complex, multi-disciplinary commercial project within the Skanska JV building construction team. You will manage all aspects of the package scope, including design, procurement, installation, logistics, compliance, commissioning, and handover, ensuring work is delivered safely, professionally, on time, and to the highest quality standards. You will also be responsible for maintaining strong commercial performance, effective governance, and alignment with Skanska’s values throughout every phase of project delivery, while meeting client expectations.
As the Project Manager, you will:

- Manage the commercial and contractual aspects of designated work packages, providing informed input into financial forecasting, CVR, and profit improvement initiatives.
- Proactively manage risks and opportunities, ensuring mitigation actions are implemented and that commercial impacts are clearly understood, allocated, and communicated.
- Drive compliance with the project quality plan, company procedures, and corporate governance standards by analysing performance data, identifying trends, and implementing corrective actions while maintaining accurate quality records.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
