Project Manager Opportunity in Southern Region

Role Overview

We are looking to recruit a Project Manager to manage projects across the Kent and East Sussex area. We have secured several new projects in the region and have a strong pipeline of further opportunities. The successful candidate will play a key role in delivering current and future projects, working closely with our operational teams, clients, and supply chain partners.

Ideally, the successful candidate will be based within the wider Kent and East Sussex area to support project delivery across the region.

Main Duties

  • Management of site staff, operatives, and sub-contractors.
  • Provide method statements, hazard risk assessments, and Project Management plans.
  • Understand tender allowances and monitor contract loss against agreed budgets.
  • Preparing and monitoring programmes of work.
  • Foster good relations and reputation with clients.
  • Manage design co-ordination.
  • Assessment and engagement of sub-contractors.
  • Manage contracts to ensure timely and profitable completion of contracts.
  • Supervise, mentor, and assist in the career development of junior staff.

Requirements

Are you the person we are looking for?

The successful candidate will have experience working for a main contractor on civil engineering projects, with a strong background in highways, structures, and heavy civil engineering schemes.

You will possess excellent technical knowledge alongside proven people management experience, with the ability to lead teams effectively, communicate confidently with a range of stakeholders, and delegate responsibilities appropriately to ensure successful project delivery.

Applicants should be an experienced Senior Site Agent or Project Manager and hold a relevant industry qualification (HND, HNC, BEng or equivalent), together with a valid SMSTS qualification, appropriate CSCS card, and Temporary Works Coordinator qualification. A First Aid at Work qualification is desirable, and knowledge of NEC contracts would be advantageous.

Due to the nature of the role, the successful candidate must be willing to travel throughout our Southern Region and hold a full UK driving licence.
