The successful candidate will be responsible for managing construction projects to ensure they are delivered safely, on time, within budget, and to the required quality standards, while maintaining strong commercial and contractual control throughout the project lifecycle.
The role requires a hands-on individual who is equally comfortable managing site teams and subcontractors, dealing with clients and consultants, and overseeing budgets, procurement, valuations, variations, cost reporting, and final accounts.
Key Responsibilities
Project Management & Delivery

- Plan, coordinate, and oversee day-to-day project operations to ensure programme, budget, and quality objectives are achieved.

- Prepare and manage project budgets, detailed cost estimates, and cost plans.
- Monitor project expenditure against approved budgets and identify potential cost overruns at an early stage.
- Prepare cash-flow forecasts, cost-value reconciliations, and regular commercial reports.
- Identify commercial risks and opportunities and implement appropriate mitigation measures.
- Work closely with the project team to identify cost-saving and value-engineering opportunities while maintaining required quality and performance.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
