Position: Project Manager
Location: Yeovil, Somerset, United Kingdom
Salary: £55,000 - £70,000 (dependent on experience, knowledge and qualifications)
Day Rate: £280 - £300 per day
Working Arrangement: Site based
Employment Type: Permanent or Contract
A Project Manager is required for a leading drylining contractor to oversee a £2 million drylining package on a major project based in Yeovil. The project forms part of a strong pipeline of work across the South West, offering excellent longer-term opportunities within the business. With a turnover of approximately £65 million and around 150 members of staff, the company operates from multiple offices across the UK.
This role would suit an experienced Project Manager with a strong background in drylining who can take overall responsibility for the successful delivery of the package. You will manage site teams and subcontractors, oversee programme and commercial performance, and act as a key point of contact with the Principal Contractor to ensure the project is delivered safely, on time, within budget and to a high standard.
Project Manager Job Overview
- Take overall responsibility for the delivery of a £2 million drylining package.
- Manage site teams, subcontractors, labour, materials and resources throughout the project.
- Develop and monitor project programmes to ensure key milestones and deadlines are achieved.
- Liaise closely with the Principal Contractor, consultants, commercial team and other project stakeholders.
- Monitor project costs, variations and commercial performance alongside the Quantity Surveying team.
- Oversee quality, health & safety and compliance across all drylining works.
- Chair and attend progress meetings, providing regular updates on programme and project performance.
- Identify potential risks and delays, implementing solutions to maintain project progress.
- Ensure works are delivered in accordance with drawings, specifications and client requirements.
- Lead and support the site management team throughout project delivery.

Project Manager Job Requirements
- Proven experience as a Project Manager within drylining, interiors or a specialist subcontracting environment.
- Strong technical knowledge of drylining systems and specifications.
- Previous experience managing significant drylining packages from commencement through to completion.
- Strong understanding of project programming, commercial management and construction delivery.
- SMSTS and relevant CSCS qualification.
- Excellent leadership, communication and client-facing skills.
- Ability to effectively manage subcontractors and site teams.
- Strong understanding of health & safety requirements and construction regulations.
- Excellent organisational and problem-solving skills.

Project Manager Salary & Benefits
- Salary between £55,000 - £70,000, depending on experience, knowledge and qualifications.
- Alternatively, £280 - £300 per day for contract candidates.
- 23 days holiday plus bank holidays for permanent employees.
