Contract Project Manager (Outside IR35) - Payments
Day rate
Between £550 - £600 (DOE)
A leading payments company is seeking an experienced Project Manager to support the delivery of a critical customer migration programme. This role will focus on the final migration wave (Wave 3), involving customers with complex connectivity solutions including API, Host-to-Host and SWIFT integrations.
We're looking for a delivery-focused PM who can ramp up quickly, work cross-functionally, and confidently manage stakeholders across business, product and technology teams.
Key Responsibilities
- Partner closely with Product and Technology teams, ensuring business and technical deliverables are aligned to migration objectives and timelines.
- Work collaboratively with internal and external migration stakeholders to coordinate activities, manage dependencies and drive successful customer outcomes.
- Take ownership of product gap identification and closure, ensuring any functionality, process or integration gaps are addressed ahead of customer migration.
- Manage the migration of integrated and connectivity-based customers, ensuring technical, operational and customer readiness requirements are met.
- Define and manage scope, milestones, risks and cross-functional dependencies for Wave 3 of the RM customer migration programme.
- Coordinate activities across departments, ensuring clear ownership, accountability and delivery against agreed timelines.
- Produce and maintain project plans, RAID logs, status reports and executive updates, providing accurate and timely project reporting.
- Build strong relationships across business, technology and operational teams, effectively managing stakeholders at all levels.
- Establish and maintain effective project governance, ensuring clear communication, decision-making and escalation processes.
- Drive quality assurance and readiness activities, including testing, migration planning, operational readiness and go-live preparation.

Required Experience:
- Proven Project Management experience within Payments, FinTech, Banking or Financial Services.
- Strong experience delivering customer migration, integration or transformation programmes.
- Experience managing customers with complex connectivity solutions including APIs, Host-to-Host, SWIFT or similar payment integration platforms.
- Demonstrable experience working across Product, Technology and Operations teams to deliver complex business and technical change.
- Strong dependency management skills, with the ability to identify, track and mitigate delivery risks across multiple workstreams.
- Excellent reporting, governance and project controls experience.
- Outstanding stakeholder management and communication skills, with the ability to influence both technical and non-technical audiences.
- Proven ability to operate in a fast-paced environment, quickly understand complex challenges and drive delivery at pace.

Contract Details:
- 5-6 month contract
- Outside IR35
- Hybrid working - Must be able to work on site 3 days a week in central London.
- Immediate start preferred
