About the Role
To oversee and ensure the safe, profitable (commercial) and technical delivery of various projects / contracts. The Project Manager is required to operate as part of a team in satisfying client’s needs and expectations. The PM is responsible for the delivery of their own assigned projects and contracts to ensure that they are completed safely, on time and within budget to a high professional standard, meeting client requirements and applicable standards as well as those projects & contracts delivered the Project Managers they line manage.
When carrying out the duties of PM, you will be required to supervise and manage projects, technicians, sub-contractors and other A&A employees undertaking works associated with projects on a day-to-day basis. Working closely with the Senior Management Team and the technical team, you are responsible for the successful delivery of projects and contracts.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage the commercial and technical requirements of contracts, ensuring A&A’s commercial interests are protected and contract margins are maintained or improved through prudent management of a contract.
- Provide safety leadership in the execution of projects and contracts to underpin the development of a high performing culture (open, honest, just, learning, focusing on operational detail with respect for expertise).
- Liaise with the Business Support Manager & team to ensure all necessary commercial/cost paperwork is completed in a timely manner and to an accurate standard.
- Provide the Management Team with a weekly report relating to project progress. The report should detail specific information relating to the operational and financial aspects of a project.
- Act as a team member as and when required ensuring the smooth running of the project and ensuring proactive resource management is in place.
- Provide the Senior Managers/Director with end of month financial information in order that the customer can be invoiced in a timely fashion.
- Manage teams of project managers, technicians, sub-contractors and other A&A employees to ensure work is carried out on time and safely.
- Liaise with technicians and subcontractors to carry out site audits as and when required to ensure work is being undertaken to a high standard.
- Overseeing quotes and liaise with the technical support team regarding any variances or as required.
- Compiling Risk Assessments and Method Statements (RAMS) to a high standard and fully compliant with relevant legislation.
- Ensure all KPIs are adhered to and maintain high levels of communication with all stakeholders. These will be monitored by the Divisional Manager.
- Communicate with customers and attend face to face meetings as and when required, representing the FIS division and the A&A Group to a high standard.
- Carry out monthly line management audits and toolbox talks issued by A&A Management.
- Ensure installation handover documentation is produced and passed to the client in a timely fashion.
- Supervise specialist subcontractors to ensure the service provided is as per service level agreement; reporting any issues immediately and contributing to problem resolution.
- Any other duties for which the Project Manager is sufficiently trained and qualified for, as designated by the Senior Management Team.

About You
- Excellent technical and industry knowledge and experience.
- Project Management qualification or experience.
- Clean full UK Driving Licence.
- Ability to communicate effectively both verbally and written, with internal and external clients.
- Demonstrate keen commercial awareness and develop new business with clients at every opportunity.
- Familiarity with MOD property and relative conduct and discipline associated with operating in such environments.
- Health & Safety qualifications would be an advantage.
- Ideally possess knowledge of fuel storage systems of various sizes and environments.
