Special Works Project Manager

Location: Oxford

Salary: £72,000 - £77,000 + Car Allowance

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Special Works Project Manager to join a well-established, family-owned regional contractor with a long-standing reputation for delivering high-quality schemes across Oxford and the wider South of England.

With a heritage spanning well over a century, this business has built an outstanding name for delivering design & build, new build, restoration and refurbishment projects, typically ranging from £500k to £5 Million. Known for its collaborative approach, people-first culture, and commitment to quality, this is a fantastic opportunity to join a contractor with real stability, strong values, and an excellent local reputation.

The Role

This is a key position within the Oxford team, focused on delivering a range of special works projects across the education, commercial, leisure, and heritage sectors.

The business has several schemes due to start over the coming months, with project values ranging from £500k to £5 million, all based in Central Oxford. These projects will include a mix of new build and refurbishment works, providing excellent variety, interesting technical challenges, and a strong pipeline of local work.

This role would suit either an existing Project Manager or an experienced Senior Site Manager looking to step into a broader leadership role within a respected regional contractor.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
