Lead the delivery of major projects that keep Australia's rail freight moving.

Aurizon is seeking an experienced Project Manager to join our Program Delivery team. In this role, you'll take ownership of the planning, delivery, and successful completion of projects, ensuring outcomes are achieved safely, on time, within budget, and to the required quality standards. You'll work closely with senior stakeholders across the business and provide leadership throughout the project lifecycle. Based within the Asset Management & Strategy function, this role will deliver critical above-rail projects across Australia, including new rollingstock acquisitions, fleet obsolescence upgrades, and major wagon and locomotive overhaul programs.

Reporting to the Program Manager, you will:

  • Develop and manage project management plans, including scope, schedule, cost and quality management.
  • Establish and maintain project baselines, budgets, and work breakdown structures where required.
  • Lead the delivery of projects from initiation through to completion.
  • Monitor project performance and proactively manage risks, issues, and project controls.
  • Provide regular reporting to project sponsors, senior leaders, and key stakeholders.
  • Manage project governance requirements and ensure compliance with business and legal obligations.
  • Support project close-out activities, including asset transfer, financial closure, and audits.
  • Build strong relationships with operational teams, contractors, and stakeholders across the business.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
