Skanska Building Services are experts in Mechanical, Electrical and Public Health (MEP) engineering. We have extensive experience of delivering a huge range of projects in a wide variety of sectors, including commercial, educational, Defence and Data Centres.

We are currently looking for a Project Manager to join our team at Botanic Place, Cambridge, who will lead the day-to-day delivery of a specific discipline package on a large, complex, multi-disciplinary commercial project within the Skanska JV building construction team. You will manage all aspects of the package scope, including design, procurement, installation, logistics, compliance, commissioning, and handover, ensuring work is delivered safely, professionally, on time, and to the highest quality standards. You will also be responsible for maintaining strong commercial performance, effective governance, and alignment with Skanska’s values throughout every phase of project delivery, while meeting client expectations.

As The Project Manager, You Will

  • Lead and ensure full compliance across design, engineering, construction, and commissioning processes.
  • Develop and manage robust project and workplace controls, ensuring effective implementation and adherence throughout delivery.
  • Take ownership of the end-to-end programme, including development, scrutiny, delivery, and performance monitoring, while preparing contingency plans for key package responsibilities.
  • Manage the commercial and contractual aspects of designated work packages, providing informed input into financial forecasting, CVR, and profit improvement initiatives.
  • Proactively manage risks and opportunities, ensuring mitigation actions are implemented and that commercial impacts are clearly understood, allocated, and communicated.
  • Drive compliance with the project quality plan, company procedures, and corporate governance standards by analysing performance data, identifying trends, and implementing corrective actions while maintaining accurate quality records.

We Are Looking For

  • Strong knowledge and practical experience in managing multiple disciplines, interfaces, and sequencing of works across complex projects.
  • Proven success in delivering large-scale MEP contracts within a collaborative project environment, ideally in a Tier 1 MEP environment.
  • Formal Health & Safety qualifications, including SMSTS as a minimum.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead teams and projects to successful outcomes.
  • Solid experience and understanding of testing and commissioning requirements associated with specific package management.
  • Experience in line management, with a focus on team leadership, performance management, and people development.
