About The Role
We are looking for an experienced and organised Project Manager to join a professional construction team based in Newport.
The successful candidate will be responsible for managing construction projects from initiation through to completion, ensuring they are delivered on time, within budget and to the required quality standards.
You will coordinate internal teams, contractors and external partners, manage project risks and budgets, oversee procurement activity and maintain effective relationships with clients and stakeholders.
This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced Project Manager to take responsibility for a varied project portfolio and contribute to the successful delivery of high-quality construction projects.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop comprehensive project plans covering scope, objectives, timelines, budgets, and resource requirements.
- Lead the day-to-day management of multiple construction projects, ensuring key milestones and deliverables are achieved.
- Establish and maintain project documentation including project briefs, RAID logs, delivery plans, and progress reports.
- Monitor project performance, identifying risks, issues, and opportunities and implementing appropriate corrective actions.
- Monitor project budgets, forecasts, and financial performance to ensure effective cost control and value for money.
- Coordinate internal teams, contractors, and external partners to ensure projects are delivered efficiently.
- Manage procurement activities where required, including supplier engagement, tendering, and contract management.
- Ensure projects are delivered in accordance with the client's brief and relevant professional standards.
- Facilitate project meetings and provide clear and regular updates to stakeholders.
- Build and maintain positive working relationships with clients, partners, contractors, and internal teams.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date project documentation, records, and reporting.
- Identify, assess, and manage project risks, dependencies, and issues throughout the project lifecycle.
- Ensure project deliverables meet required quality standards, specifications, and statutory requirements.
- Promote adherence to health and safety, environmental, and regulatory requirements.
- Monitor project progress and ensure emerging issues or delays are identified and addressed promptly.
- Support continuous improvement and contribute to the delivery of high-quality project outcomes.

About You
- A Bachelor’s degree or equivalent qualification in Project Management, Construction Management, or a related discipline.
- Previous experience in a similar Project Management role.
- Experience managing construction projects from initiation through to completion.
- Experience with construction contracts and contract management.
- Strong project planning and organizational skills.
- Experience managing multiple projects, priorities, and deadlines.
- Good understanding of project budgets, forecasting, and financial monitoring.
- Experience of procurement, tendering, and supplier/contractor management.
- Strong knowledge of risk, issue, and change management.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- The ability to build strong relationships with clients, contractors, consultants, and internal stakeholders.
- Strong negotiation and influencing skills, with the confidence to communicate with stakeholders at all levels.
- A proactive, solution-focused approach to problem-solving.
- Excellent attention to detail and the ability to maintain accurate project documentation.
- Competence using Microsoft Office/Microsoft 365.
- A current site card, or willingness to obtain one immediately.
- A full UK driving licence, as occasional travel to offices and construction sites may be required.
