M&E Project Manager – Tier 1 Main Contractor

Location: London
Sector: Construction / Building Services

The Opportunity

A fantastic opportunity has arisen to join one of the UK’s most respected and successful Tier 1 main contractors. Renowned for delivering landmark commercial, public sector, and mixed-use projects across the capital, they are currently seeking an experienced M&E Project Manager to lead the building services delivery on a major new development in London.

This contractor is celebrated for its forward-thinking approach, commitment to sustainable building practices, and excellent progression opportunities. You will be joining a highly capable team with a strong pipeline of work secured for the coming years.

Key Responsibilities

  • Project Delivery: Lead the delivery of full Mechanical and Electrical packages on large-scale construction projects, ensuring strict adherence to the construction programme and budget.
  • Sub-contractor Management: Procure, manage, and coordinate specialist M&E sub-contractors from the pre-construction phase through to installation, commissioning, and final handover.
  • Design & Commercial Coordination: Work closely with the design managers, quantity surveyors, and the wider project team to ensure technical compliance, value engineering, and commercial viability.
  • Health & Safety: Drive an uncompromising health and safety culture on-site, ensuring full compliance with current legislation and company policies.
  • Stakeholder Engagement: Act as the primary point of contact for building services on your project, leading progress meetings and reporting directly to the Project Director and external clients.

  • A proven background working as an M&E Project Manager, ideally within a main contractor environment or a large specialist MEP sub-contractor.
  • Strong, balanced technical knowledge across both Mechanical and Electrical disciplines.
  • Relevant industry qualifications (HNC, HND, or Degree in Building Services, Electrical, or Mechanical Engineering).
  • Valid SMSTS, appropriate CSCS card, and current First Aid certification.
  • Exceptional leadership and communication skills, with a demonstrable track record of driving projects to successful completion whilst maintaining high quality standards.
