We are recruiting for 2 x Project Managers to join us here at Octavius.

We are a leading civil engineering organisation delivering safe, sustainable, and efficient transport solutions across the UK.

As our Eastern Routes Partnership portfolio continues to grow, we are looking for two experienced Project Managers to support the delivery of Network Rail infrastructure projects across the Eastern Region.

We Are Recruiting For

Project Manager (Stratford) - Rail Telecoms / SCADA / Control Systems background
Project Manager (York) - Electrification & Plant (E&P) background

These roles offer the opportunity to lead technically complex rail infrastructure schemes from early development through design, delivery and successful hand back, helping shape the future of the railway during Control Period 7 (CP7).

You'll be working on….

Leading a portfolio of rail infrastructure projects valued at approximately £5m+, ensuring they are delivered safely, efficiently and in line with customer expectations.

You'll

  • Manage projects through the full lifecycle, from development and design through to delivery and handback.
  • Lead the planning, programming and execution of works within live railway environments.
  • Ensure projects are delivered safely, on programme, within budget and to the highest quality standards.
  • Drive commercial awareness across your projects, supporting forecasting, cost control and change management.
  • Champion Octavius' values and collaborative culture across project teams and supply chain partners.

About You….

You are a proactive and commercially aware Project Manager who thrives in a collaborative environment and enjoys delivering infrastructure projects that make a real difference.

You'll be comfortable managing multiple workstreams simultaneously and have the confidence to engage with customers, suppliers and stakeholders at all levels.

You'll Have

  • A strong engineering background within rail infrastructure.
  • Experience working within Network Rail or similar regulated rail environments.
  • Excellent planning and organisational skills.
  • A collaborative leadership style with the ability to build high-performing teams.
  • A commitment to safety, quality and delivering exceptional customer outcomes.

You'll bring….

Your Wealth Of Experience And Qualifications.

  • Experience delivering rail infrastructure projects through design and construction stages.
  • Knowledge of NEC4 contracts and project governance processes.
  • A strong understanding of railway access planning and delivery within operational railway environments.
  • Commercial awareness including forecasting, cost control, compensation events and change management.
  • Experience managing projects or portfolios valued up to £5m-£10m.
  • For the Stratford role, experience in Telecoms, SCADA, Electrical Control Systems or Operational Communications.
  • For the York role, experience in Electrification & Plant (E&P), power distribution or traction power systems.
  • Degree, HND, NVQ or equivalent qualification in Engineering or a related discipline.
  • SMSTS or equivalent site management qualification (desirable).
