PROJECT MANAGER – ASSET REPLACEMENT – YORKSHIRE REGION
Location: Yorkshire
The Opportunity
A leading power infrastructure organisation is looking to appoint an experienced Project Manager to lead the delivery of high-voltage substation asset replacement projects. The position will take responsibility for projects from design and procurement through construction, testing and commissioning. You will manage programme, budget, resources, risk and technical delivery while acting as the main interface between clients, contractors, engineering teams and senior stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead the planning and delivery of HV substation asset replacement projects.
- Develop and manage project programmes, budgets, resources, and risk registers.
- Oversee delivery from design and procurement through construction, testing, and commissioning.
- Coordinate multidisciplinary engineering teams, contractors, and project stakeholders.
- Monitor project finances, including budgeting, forecasting, cost control, and reporting.
- Identify project risks and implement appropriate mitigation and corrective actions.
- Ensure compliance with CDM Regulations, technical standards, safety requirements, and client specifications.
- Review project performance and provide clear progress reports to clients and senior management.
- Manage multiple concurrent projects while maintaining safety, quality, programme, and commercial performance.

Qualifications & Experience:
- HNC/HND in Electrical, Civil, or Mechanical Engineering, Project Management, or a closely related discipline.
- Demonstrable experience delivering high-voltage electrical infrastructure projects.
- Strong technical understanding of HV networks and substation equipment.
- Experience managing complex engineering projects through the complete delivery lifecycle.
- Good knowledge of UK electricity utility and transmission standards.
- Experience working with a DNO would be advantageous.
- Strong understanding of CDM Regulations and project safety responsibilities.
- Proven leadership and stakeholder-management experience.
- Ability to interpret technical drawings, programmes, cost reports, and risk registers.
- Strong commercial awareness, problem-solving ability, and organizational skills.
