Role description

Due to growth and demand we have opportunities for Project Manager working with our Energy Sector clients on Major Energy Projects or a Portfolio of projects. Within this account the volume of projects has grown steadily, and we are in a position to expand the current established team.

Role accountabilities

  • Deliver a number of small to medium scale projects or programmes of work
  • Drive the project(s) delivery to ensure they are delivered safely on time, to budget, meeting business & technical requirements
  • Monitor and manage the progress of the programme – track progress against milestones, deadlines, budget, provide key stakeholders with reports on these matters and ensure all parties are informed and aware of project progress and expectations
  • Identify risks and facilitate the resolution of all issues raised, develop and update the programme budget, and escalate any issues to the Senior Project Manager
  • Undertake all contract administration activities (with support of a Commercial Manager) including variations, claims, technical queries and instructions
  • Work within established financial systems to independently produce plans and schedules and track and manage budgets, highlighting variances
  • Provide advice to colleagues surrounding behaviours, to ensure adherence to internal and external compliance processes
  • Analyse and review a range of data to identify key existing and emerging themes and trends. Use own and others’ analysis to provide recommendations that support project decision-making
  • Use own knowledge and experience of industry best practice to review and analyse project processes and policies, providing insightful recommendations that support senior management to improve processes and systems
  • Interact effectively and proactively across the organisation, seeking to develop ways to support collaboration and ensure projects/programmes can be delivered to meet internal customer expectations
  • Advise senior management on issues relating to own project, providing subject matter advice in order to support successful delivery in line with project objectives and strategies

Qualifications & Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering or equivalent
  • Relevant professional qualification or chartered status
  • Track record of delivering projects within a technically complex (small to medium sized) and dynamic environment whilst ensuring high levels of safety, security and environmental responsibility, ideally within the Energy sector or similar regulated environment
  • Able to demonstrate strong management skills including project management, financial management, change management and facilitation. Proficient in the use of estimating scheduling, programming and risk tools.
  • Commercial acumen and the ability to manage relationships with clients and external stakeholders
  • Good presentation, influencing and facilitation skills. Excellent communication and organisational skills, able to develop relationships and maintain effective networks
  • Knowledge of own area managed and an understanding of wider programme and business
  • Experience in managing business relationships at senior-management level
