Role + Responsibilities for a Project Manager:

We are looking for an experienced and customer-focused Project Manager to join our Solutions team and take ownership of customer process automation projects from sales handover through to successful completion.

Working closely with customers, suppliers, subcontractors, and internal teams, you will ensure projects are delivered safely, on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards. You will be accountable for project scope, programme, budget, risk, commercial performance, and customer satisfaction.

Main Responsibilities

  • Leading customer process automation projects from planning through to commissioning and final handover.
  • Managing project scope, deliverables, budgets, schedules, milestones, risks, and resources to achieve successful outcomes.
  • Coordinating engineering, procurement, manufacturing, installation, and commissioning activities.
  • Building strong working relationships with customers, suppliers, and subcontractors.
  • Leading project meetings, monitoring performance, and resolving issues proactively.
  • Maintaining project plans, schedules, forecasts, risk registers, change controls, and progress reports.
  • Managing project variations, claims, commercial opportunities, and contractual obligations.
  • Ensuring compliance with legislation, contracts, company procedures, quality standards, and health and safety requirements.
  • Supporting project acquisition activities and maintaining accurate project records.
  • Capturing lessons learned and supporting continuous improvement across the business.

Qualifications & Profile

  • HNC, Degree, or equivalent qualification in Engineering, Automation, or related discipline.
  • Proven experience delivering engineering, industrial, or process automation projects.
  • Strong understanding of project planning, risk management, change control, and commercial management.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
  • The ability to lead multidisciplinary teams and influence successful project outcomes.
  • A proactive, organised, and customer-focused approach.
  • Full UK driving license and willingness to travel to customer sites across the UK.
  • Project management training or formal qualifications would be advantageous.
  • Experience within instrumentation, process automation, or CEMS projects would be desirable.
