Job Description

We are seeking an experienced Project Manager to lead the safe, efficient and commercially controlled delivery of a project based in Selby. You will coordinate multidisciplinary teams, contractors, suppliers and client stakeholders from planning and mobilisation through construction, commissioning and close-out. You will provide clear leadership across programme, cost, risk, quality and stakeholder management, ensuring that the project delivers against agreed outcomes while maintaining strong safety and governance standards.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead the day-to-day delivery of the project, establishing clear priorities, responsibilities, milestones and success measures.
• Own and maintain the integrated project plan, coordinating design, procurement, construction, commissioning and handover activities.
• Provide visible leadership on health, safety, environment and quality, ensuring work is planned and delivered in accordance with applicable requirements.
• Manage project scope, programme, budget, risk and change, escalating emerging issues early and recommending practical recovery actions.
• Coordinate internal disciplines, client teams, contractors, suppliers and other stakeholders to maintain progress and resolve interfaces.
• Administer project communications and support contractual processes, including Early Warnings, Compensation Events, instructions and records under NEC contracts.
• Work closely with commercial colleagues to monitor expenditure, forecasts, commitments, applications for payment and the financial impact of change.
• Chair project, progress and risk meetings, ensuring decisions, actions and accountabilities are clearly recorded and followed through.
• Monitor contractor performance and programmes, challenging slippage and ensuring realistic plans are in place to protect key milestones.
• Maintain effective project controls, including risk and opportunity registers, change logs, action trackers, reporting and document governance.
• Build trusted relationships with the client and wider stakeholders, providing clear, concise and accurate reporting on progress, risk and decisions.
• Coordinate site activities and access requirements, supporting safe construction delivery and readiness for testing, commissioning and operational handover.
• Lead project close-out, ensuring outstanding actions, defects, records, lessons learned and commercial matters are completed appropriately.
