Mace combines construction expertise with consultancy to unlock potential in every person or project and redefine the boundaries of ambition. Our values shape the way we consult and define the people we want to join us on our journey.

The project

The projects incorporate the latest modern methods of construction and standardised processes. The successful candidate will be the lead Project Manager throughout the delivery of a project which is already progressing on site. This role sits in our consultancy business, specifically the justice sector.

This position will suit a candidate looking to further their career that is fast-paced and industry-leading. This is a client-facing role based partly on site where you will be responsible for managing wider consultant teams and project stakeholders and working with the project team to deliver the project successfully. This project is linked to a wider programme of projects delivering new prisoner places and therefore the successful candidate will be part of a much larger team of individuals working to deliver other works on site.

A great opportunity for a Project Manager to join our established Ministry of Justice sector within Mace. The existing team has a proven track record of successfully delivering a wide variety of projects of the highest quality across the MoJ prison portfolio.

This role will provide experience in project delivery throughout the construction and handover stage to meet defined time, cost, technical performance, and quality requirements. You will be highly motivated, understand developing a project plan, and support with leading an existing professional team to drive forward the client's strategy.

As Project Manager, you will successfully lead in all aspects of delivery by building strong working relationships with clients and colleagues and supply chain members.

Please note: The role entails hybrid working with attendance on site expected - the project is approaching handover and whilst exact requirements can be flexible, envisage site attendance 2-3 days a week. Remaining days working from home or a Mace regional office as required. EL1 vetting clearances will be required for this role.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
