Test Manager / Project Manager – HR Technology Transformation
Contract | Hybrid High Wycombe | 6 month contract
TechNET IT has partnered with a leading UK retail organisation undergoing a major HR technology transformation, and we are looking for a highly organised, hands-on Test Manager / Project Manager to support the next critical stage of delivery.
This isn't a role for someone who wants to manage testing from a distance. We are looking for somebody pragmatic, energetic and delivery-focused who is comfortable rolling up their sleeves, getting into the detail and making things happen.
The programme has completed the majority of its initial System Integration Testing (SIT) and is now mobilising for User Acceptance Testing (UAT). UAT activity will begin during October, with the main execution phase running from November through to early February, ahead of dress rehearsals, cutover activity and the wider solution go-live planned for May. Payroll will follow as a subsequent phase.
What you'll be doing
You'll take ownership of the day-to-day coordination and delivery of testing, working across project teams, business users, SMEs and third-party partners.
You'll be responsible for organising the UAT approach and ensuring the practical elements required for successful execution are in place, including test plans, scripts, resources, training, tracking, actions and stakeholder communication.

This will include:
- Mobilising and coordinating UAT activity
- Creating and maintaining detailed test plans and schedules
- Coordinating test scripts, scenarios and supporting documentation
- Ensuring the right business users and SMEs are engaged and prepared
- Tracking progress, actions, risks, issues and dependencies
- Chasing stakeholders and removing blockers to keep delivery moving
- Coordinating resources and ensuring clear ownership
- Supporting defect management and resolution
- Providing clear, concise reporting on testing progress
- Supporting later-stage testing, dress rehearsals, cutover and payroll testing
- Working closely with implementation partners and internal project teams
The environment is deliberately lean and pragmatic, so you must be comfortable doing the work yourself rather than relying on a large PMO or dedicated testing function.
What we're looking for
We'd like to speak with people who have previously worked within complex technology transformation programmes in a Test Management, Project Management or hybrid delivery role.

You'll ideally bring:
- Strong Test Management and/or Project Management experience
- Experience coordinating UAT or other significant testing phases
- Excellent organisation, planning and attention to detail
- Strong stakeholder management and communication skills
- The confidence to chase actions, challenge where necessary and maintain momentum
- Experience working in lean project teams where you've personally been involved in delivery
- Ability to quickly understand a programme and establish priorities
- Experience working across business and technical stakeholders
- A proactive, practical and delivery-focused approach
Experience of Oracle Fusion / Oracle HCM Cloud, HR systems, payroll or large-scale enterprise transformation would be beneficial, but is not essential. The emphasis is on practical delivery capability and behaviours rather than deep Oracle specialism.
This would suit someone who describes themselves as a "doer", highly organised, comfortable with ambiguity and able to parachute into an established programme, take ownership and get things moving quickly.
