A Snapshot of Your Day

As a Project Manager, you will take ownership of projects from initial estimating and planning through execution, delivery, and final closure. You will bring together the people, resources, suppliers, and activities needed to deliver projects safely, on time, within budget, and to the required quality standards.

Working in a manufacturing and engineering environment, you will coordinate cross-functional project teams and external vendors while acting as a key point of contact for customers and internal stakeholders. You will have the autonomy expected of an experienced Project Manager, making decisions, resolving issues, and maintaining control of project performance with limited supervision.

Alongside delivery, you will maintain a strong focus on commercial and financial performance, identifying risks early, controlling budgets and forecasts, and ensuring stakeholders have a clear view of project progress.

How You’ll Make An Impact

  • Take ownership of the full project lifecycle, from estimating, scoping, and planning through execution, delivery, and project closure.
  • Develop and maintain project plans covering scope, schedules, resources, key milestones, and dependencies, coordinating activities across internal teams and external vendors.
  • Monitor project performance against agreed cost, schedule, staffing, and quality requirements, taking corrective action where performance moves away from plan.
  • Manage project financials, including budgets, forecasting, cost tracking, billing, and invoicing, ensuring accurate financial control throughout delivery.
  • Identify, assess, and mitigate project risks and obstacles, resolving issues before they impact delivery, cost, or customer commitments.
  • Lead stakeholder and customer communication, facilitate project reviews, maintain accurate project documentation, and support less experienced project professionals through coaching and knowledge sharing.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
