ISS is seeking two experienced Project Managers to join our expanding Variable Works team supporting a major government contract. These are exciting opportunities to deliver a high-volume programme of building, engineering and refurbishment projects across a diverse national estate.
We are recruiting:
- 1 x Project Manager (North Region) – Yorkshire and above
- 1 x Project Manager (South Region) – London and surrounding areas, extending to the South West
This is a hybrid role with national travel across your allocated region, typically 2-3 days per week on-site.
Role Overview
Reporting to the Project Lead, you will take ownership of multiple projects ranging from £5k to £150k in value, covering HVAC, building fabric, fit-outs, refurbishments, asset replacements and general building alterations across the DWP estate.
You will manage projects through the full lifecycle, from scope development and planning through to delivery and completion, ensuring projects are delivered safely, on time, within budget and to the highest standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage multiple building, M&E, HVAC, fit-out and refurbishment projects simultaneously.
- Lead projects through all lifecycle stages in line with recognised project management methodologies and RIBA processes.
- Develop and implement project plans, ensuring delivery against agreed budgets, timescales and quality requirements.
- Act as the primary point of contact for clients, stakeholders and delivery teams.
- Build and maintain strong customer relationships across the contract.
- Manage contractors, suppliers and supply chain partners.
- Define project scopes and identify risks, opportunities and resource requirements.
- Ensure appropriate project governance, compliance and reporting.
- Support and provide direction to Assistant Project Managers and Administrators.
- Drive safe and compliant project delivery across a large and geographically dispersed estate.

About You
We're looking for a confident and commercially aware Project Manager with experience managing multiple projects in fast-paced environments.
- 3-5+ years' project management experience.
- Experience delivering construction, building services, M&E, HVAC, fit-out or refurbishment projects.
- Proven experience managing multiple projects concurrently.
- Strong stakeholder management and customer relationship skills.
- Knowledge of construction processes and project delivery methodologies.
- Understanding of NEC4 contracts preferred.
- Ability to interpret scopes, identify risks and manage project governance.
- Excellent communication, leadership and organisational skills.
- Full UK driving licence.

Qualifications
- PMP qualification.
- SMSTS certification.
- APM Level 4, 5 or 7 qualification preferred.
