Project Manager (High Voltage Systems)

Hybrid/Flexible Working

A leading engineering and construction organisation is seeking an experienced Project Manager (High Voltage Systems) to lead the delivery of major transmission and energy infrastructure projects. This role will oversee HV design, construction, subcontractors, commercial performance, and project delivery.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead High Voltage cable and plant packages on major infrastructure projects.
  • Manage HV designers, subcontractors, and design deliverables.
  • Act as the technical lead for HV systems and construction activities.
  • Oversee project programmes, budgets, risk management, and reporting.
  • Manage subcontractor performance, variations, and commercial outcomes.
  • Drive health & safety, quality, and compliance across the project lifecycle.
  • Coordinate multidisciplinary engineering, design, and construction teams.

Requirements

  • 10+ years' experience delivering High Voltage projects with a contractor.
  • National Grid project experience preferred.
  • Strong knowledge of 132kV, 275kV, and 400kV transmission systems.
  • Experience managing HV design and construction packages.
  • Understanding of Principal Contractor and Principal Designer responsibilities.
  • SMSTS qualification and full UK driving licence.
