New Project Manager Positions
We are expanding our project delivery capability with a number of exciting new positions for Project Managers across a diverse range of disciplines supporting the delivery of a suite of projects associated with the Shaft and Silo* programme of work. These roles offer the opportunity to contribute to complex and challenging projects that support critical site operations, infrastructure development, and long-term programme objectives.

About the Role
The Dounreay Shaft and Silo facilities are one of the most complex nuclear decommissioning challenges in the UK. The next five years will be exciting! We are continuing site enabling works; collaborating with the supply chain to find a long-term delivery partner; progressing further with process and plant technology and starting to prepare for the main construction phase due to start in 2030.

Commercial/Construction Management (ref. 319)
A hybrid role combining commercial awareness with construction project delivery. The successful candidate will be involved in managing project scope, contractor performance, cost control, and delivery activities, ensuring projects are completed safely, efficiently, and in line with business objectives.
The role will be focussed on the Enabling scope of work. This scope includes the establishment of laydown areas, waste storage areas, and site offices, prior to the construction of the Shaft and Silo retrieval facilities. The role will require the ability to coordinate work across multiple work fronts, and with multiple stakeholders with a strong working knowledge and experience in the delivery of contracts using the NEC framework. Experience in construction project management, logistics and planning would be advantageous.

Ground Investigation & Excavation Projects (ref. 326)
Supporting site-based ground and excavation activities, including borehole investigations and work within contaminated land environments. This role will focus on coordinating project delivery, managing stakeholders and contractors, and ensuring compliance with safety and environmental requirements.
The role will be focussed on projects associated with the Enabling scope of work. This scope includes the remediation of areas of radiologically and chemically contaminated land, and the installation of new groundwater monitoring boreholes and instrumentation around legacy waste facilities. The role will require a working knowledge of the delivery of ground engineering projects within the applicable regulatory frameworks on a Nuclear Licensed site.
Operational Facilities Projects (ref. 327)
A site-based position supporting projects within operational facilities. The role will involve working closely with facility teams, managing projects in compliance with relevant safety cases and licence conditions, and ensuring the safe and effective delivery of improvements and modifications.
The role will be focussed on projects associated with the Enabling scope of work. This will include managing modifications to existing operational facilities including the rerouting of services, decommissioning activities, and the construction of facilities and infrastructure in advance of the construction of the new Shaft and Silo waste retrieval buildings.
The role will require knowledge and experience of managing projects within the envelope of existing operational facility nuclear safety cases.

Plant & Equipment Delivery (ref. 330)
A hybrid delivery role leading defined projects and work packages associated with process plant, remote handling equipment, facility layout, operational systems, and asset management throughout the full project lifecycle.
Working directly with the Senior Project Manager and the wider Shaft & Silo Programme team, the post holder will translate objectives, operational requirements, and technical strategies into clearly defined scope, integrated delivery plans and successful delivery of operational capabilities ready for deployment and use.
The role will support all stages of delivery, including business case and commercial development, procurement and contract management, risk, issue and opportunity management, stakeholder engagement, design integration, testing, commissioning, and transition into service.
What You'll Bring
- Degree or equivalent in Engineering, Project Management, or related discipline
- Relevant experience managing projects in relevant area
- Effective communication with staff, contractors, regulators, and stakeholders
- Strong organisational and planning skills and experience delivering projects in complex regulated environments
- Post specific capability analysis assessment
