Project Manager, Clinical-Stage Gene Therapy
West London, UK – Hybrid

Cpl Life Sciences is partnering with an innovative clinical-stage biotechnology company at the forefront of AI-enabled drug development to recruit a Project Manager. This is a unique opportunity to join a pioneering organisation developing transformative gene therapies for neurological disorders. The company is advancing a clinical-stage AAV gene therapy programme in Parkinson’s disease and is seeking a Project Manager to drive cross-functional execution across development, manufacturing, regulatory, and operational workstreams.
Working closely with senior leadership, scientific experts, and external partners, you will play a critical role in ensuring programme delivery, aligning stakeholders, and building scalable processes to support the company's continued growth.
Key Responsibilities:
Programme Management & Delivery
- Own and maintain the integrated programme plan across clinical development, regulatory, CMC, manufacturing, quality, finance, and corporate activities.
- Drive programme governance, planning meetings, and execution reviews.
- Track milestones, risks, dependencies, budgets, and critical paths.
- Prepare dashboards and executive-level updates to support decision making.

Clinical, Regulatory & Manufacturing Coordination
- Coordinate clinical development activities across internal teams, CROs, and vendors.
- Support clinical trial readiness and execution, ensuring alignment across study, regulatory, and supply workstreams.
- Manage timelines and deliverables associated with regulatory submissions and agency interactions.
- Coordinate manufacturing, clinical supply, technology transfer, testing, and release activities.
Stakeholder & Vendor Management
- Act as the central programme interface between internal teams, external partners, and vendors.
- Support governance meetings, steering committees, and decision-making processes.
- Monitor vendor performance and help resolve operational challenges.
- Ensure accountability and effective communication across all stakeholders.
Company Building & Operational Excellence
- Develop scalable programme management tools, reporting frameworks, and operating processes.
- Support organisational growth and operational efficiency initiatives.
- Assist with partnering, fundraising, and due diligence activities where required.
Essential
- 5+ years' project or programme management experience within biotechnology, pharmaceuticals, or a regulated life sciences environment.
- Experience supporting clinical-stage development programmes and complex cross-functional projects.
- Working knowledge of clinical development, regulatory affairs, CMC/manufacturing, quality, and finance.
- Proven experience managing external partners, CROs, CDMOs, or other suppliers.
- Strong project planning, risk management, budgeting, and stakeholder management skills.
- Exceptional organisational, communication, and problem-solving abilities.
- Comfortable operating in a dynamic, fast-paced, and entrepreneurial environment.

Desirable
- Experience within gene therapy, ATMPs, AAV technologies, or advanced biologics.
- Exposure to Phase II or Phase III clinical programmes.
- Knowledge of Parkinson’s disease, CNS development, or neuroscience.
- Experience with manufacturing scale-up, technology transfer, or clinical supply management.
- Previous involvement in biotech start-ups, company-building initiatives, or partnering activities.
