Business Project Manager – Financial Services Transformation
Contract: Initial 6 months
Rate: Up to £400 per day
IR35: Outside IR35
Location: Central London / Swindon – hybrid, typically 2–3 days onsite
We are hiring a Business Project Manager to support a major financial-services integration and transformation programme. This is a hands-on delivery role working across business and technology teams. You will take ownership of complex migration and implementation activity, maintain strong delivery controls and ensure stakeholders remain aligned through readiness, go-live and transition into BAU.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage projects from initiation through implementation, closure and benefits realisation.
- Own project plans, milestones, budgets, resources, dependencies and RAID.
- Coordinate migration, development, testing, UAT, cutover and go-live activity.
- Work closely with business stakeholders, technology teams, suppliers and senior leadership.
- Manage critical delivery situations, including delays, blockers and go-live risks.
- Drive business readiness, communications, training and operational transition.
- Maintain governance, audit trails, project documentation and steering-group reporting.
- Facilitate decisions and communicate delivery challenges clearly to senior stakeholders.

Essential Skills & Experience
- Approximately 6–8 years’ project management experience.
- Strong experience delivering migrations, integrations, system implementations or technology-enabled change.
- Experience working across both business and development teams.
- Strong stakeholder management and communication skills.
- Good understanding of testing, UAT, cutover, readiness and go-live processes.
- Strong governance, risk, dependency and change-control experience.
- Proven ability to manage challenging timelines and critical delivery issues.
- Experience within financial services or another regulated environment.

Desirable Experience
- Banking, mortgages, pensions, lending or customer migration experience.
- Business-change or change-management delivery.
- PRINCE2, Agile or equivalent project management certification.
This role would suit a confident Business Project Manager, Migration Project Manager, Implementation Project Manager or Project and Change Manager who can bring structure, pace and strong stakeholder leadership to a complex programme.
