Experienced Project Manager

We are looking for an Experienced Project Manager to join Metcor Group. The ideal candidate will be ideally based in either West Midlands, Oxfordshire and Kent area. You will be required to travel to sites from the Midlands to Kent.

Working Hours

  • Monday-Friday, 45 hours per week

Role Overview

The Project Manager will focus on underground drainage rehabilitation and repair works, including lining, patch lining, excavation repairs, drain replacement, civils works, and associated drainage infrastructure projects.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop client requests, survey findings, and technical recommendations into commercially viable and profitable project works.
  • Manage drainage rehabilitation and repair projects from enquiry through mobilisation, delivery, and close-out.
  • Deliver projects in line with agreed programme, budget, quality standards, and client expectations.
  • Support larger and longer-duration projects under the direction of the Project Management team, enabling greater project capacity and clearer ownership across the department.
  • Attend site surveys, client meetings, and project review meetings to establish scope, identify solutions, and secure project opportunities.
  • Take day-to-day responsibility for project Health & Safety delivery, ensuring compliance with company policies, procedures, and legislative requirements.
  • Prepare and review project RAMS, programmes, resource requirements, and delivery plans.
  • Produce regular project progress, commercial, and operational reports for senior management.

Health & Safety Responsibilities

  • Ensure all projects are delivered in accordance with company Health & Safety policies and procedures.
  • Conduct site inspections and safety audits throughout project delivery.
  • Ensure appropriate RAMS, permits, and site-specific controls are in place prior to commencement of works.
  • Promote a positive safety culture across direct labour and subcontractor teams.
  • Investigate incidents, near misses, and non-conformances, implementing corrective actions where required.

Requirements

  • Full UK Driving Licence
  • Minimum of 10 years’ experience within the drainage or utilities sector
  • Proven track record of developing projects from initial enquiry through to successful completion and safely
  • Managing budgets, forecasts, and financial performance
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Strong organisational and planning skills
  • Flexible and willing to travel from the Midlands to London
  • Able to do stayaways to ensure Projects are completed
