Job Description

A leading engineering contractor is currently seeking an experienced Project Manager to support the delivery of major HV substation projects across Scotland.

This is an excellent opportunity to join a growing team delivering critical transmission and distribution infrastructure, with a strong pipeline of secured work offering long-term opportunities.

The successful candidate will be responsible for managing project delivery from start to finish, coordinating site teams, subcontractors and stakeholders, and ensuring projects are delivered safely, efficiently and to programme.

This role will offer a hybrid working arrangement, combining time between the contractor's office south of Glasgow and project sites across Edinburgh.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage the successful delivery of HV substation projects from inception through to completion
  • Oversee project programmes, budgets, quality and safety performance
  • Coordinate site teams, subcontractors, suppliers and client stakeholders
  • Ensure works are delivered in line with project specifications and industry standards
  • Manage project reporting, progress updates and commercial requirements
  • Support planning, risk management and delivery strategy
  • Work closely with Site Managers and engineering teams to ensure successful project execution

Requirements

  • Proven experience managing HV substation projects
  • Strong background delivering electrical infrastructure projects
  • Experience working within the transmission and distribution sector
  • Knowledge of HV works, substations and associated construction activities
  • Strong leadership, communication and stakeholder management skills
  • Experience managing subcontractors and site-based teams
  • SMSTS preferred

Contract Details

  • Hybrid role – office south of Glasgow & Edinburgh project sites
  • Outside IR35
  • Initial 12-month contract with long-term work available
