Position Description

At CGI, we help public sector organisations modernise critical technology with confidence, creating resilient services that deliver lasting value for the communities they support. As an IT Project Manager within our Application Upgrade Programme for our client, you’ll take ownership of application and infrastructure upgrades from planning through to successful delivery. You’ll coordinate technical teams and suppliers, manage commercial performance and give clients clear insight into progress, risks, and outcomes. With the autonomy to drive delivery and find practical solutions to complex challenges, you’ll work alongside experienced architecture, infrastructure, and delivery specialists who share their expertise and support your success. This is an opportunity to make a visible impact within a significant technology estate while developing your project leadership expertise at CGI.

CGI was recognized in the Sunday Times Best Places to Work List 2025 and has been named a UK ‘Best Employer’ by the Financial Times. We offer a competitive salary, excellent pension, private healthcare, plus a share scheme (3.5% + 3.5% matching) which makes you a CGI Partner not just an employee. We are committed to inclusivity, building a genuinely diverse community of tech talent, and inspiring everyone to pursue careers in our sector, including our Armed Forces, and are proud to hold a Gold Award in recognition of our support of the Armed Forces Corporate Covenant. Join us and you’ll be part of an open, friendly community of experts. We’ll train and support you in taking your career wherever you want it to go.

This is a hybrid position, but you will be expected to work at CGI’s Office and/or our client’s offices in Glasgow.

Your future duties and responsibilities

In this role, you will take ownership of delivering application and infrastructure upgrades through the complete project lifecycle, managing an ongoing pipeline of demand for our client. You’ll coordinate plans, milestones, and technical dependencies while providing the client with clear visibility of delivery status, financial performance, risks, and issues.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
