Join our Project Management Team

The Project Management team sits within Softcat's PPM function and engages in customer facing projects. The project manager plays a crucial role in the customer's end-to-end engagement with Softcat. You'll be working in a team of project managers, programme managers and project coordinators, as well as with the Professional Services team and the Resource Desk.

Role Overview

Have you got Agile experience and deployed Cloud based Infrastructure? As a Project Manager, you'll be managing significant infrastructure and services projects for Softcat's customers using both Prince 2 and Agile methodologies. This role will involve both public and private sector customers and may require travel between your Softcat base location and client sites. You will help to define and improve the Agile approach to managing cloud focused infrastructure projects. This is a crucial focus within the team for you to take on a lead role managing enterprise level projects with some of our key customers.

Key Responsibilities

As a Project Manager, you'll be responsible for:

  • Managing the development and delivery of the solution to meet the customer's business needs, working with multiple services teams, aligning the necessary resources and skills, within agreed parameters of cost, timescales, and quality
  • You'll work both individually as well as alongside project managers and project coordinators to lead and support projects of varying size and complexity
  • Deploying Cloud based Infrastructure projects
  • Required to demonstrate a high-level understanding of common technologies, with the ability to host and facilitate meetings attended by customer and Softcat executives
  • Managing remote resources across multiple technical disciplines

What We Need from You

  • Significant experience managing client facing infrastructure projects
  • Prince2 Agile Practitioner / AgilePM or proven track record of delivering projects to equivalent methodologies
  • Prince2 Practitioner qualified or proven track record of delivering projects to equivalent methodologies
  • You'll be well versed in full life-cycle project management, technically astute in infrastructure technologies and adopt project management best practices dependent on the required methodology
  • Experience delivering cloud-based projects using waterfall and iterative working practices; engaging with sales and working with architects, technical consultants, DevOps engineers and support team
