About the Role

This position is a hybrid role requiring work from either London or Tunbridge Wells. You would be employed through Robert Walters Consulting as a salaried employee, working on a client contract with AXA, one of the world's leading insurance and financial services companies. The initial contract duration is 6 months, with a strong likelihood of extension.

Structured in the Project and Programme Management Guild, the role will have a direct reporting line to a Guild Manager who will provide career development support, HR support, and day-to-day line management.

Responsibilities

As a Senior Project Manager, you will report to an assignment lead, e.g., portfolio Lead/Tribe Lead, and be assigned to large IT and Business Change Projects across the UK business units and Tribes. Engaging with all relevant staff and stakeholders in line with our project delivery framework.

  • To support IT / COO / Tribes across the UK Group by the application of disciplined programme & project management methodology and industry experience that ensures best practice and systematic ongoing improvement.
  • Support the assignment lead in the effective day-to-day management of project resources and priorities.
  • Support guild culture, engagement, and process improvement activities to benefit the guild function and wider stakeholder groups.

Requirements

  • Previous experience with a proven track record of delivery in large complex projects within federated / multi-organisational environments.
  • Ideally experience in delivering transformation projects, with a technology change focus.
  • Accredited at Project Management discipline (practitioner level) (e.g., Certified Project Manager, APMP, PRINCE2 Practitioner, etc.).
  • Expert in Project Management Disciplines with experience in Agile & Waterfall delivery approach.
  • Has experience/knowledge of defining and/or delivering organizational change within teams to improve delivery efficiencies and team culture.
  • Experience of budget management.
  • Proven decision-making ability.
  • Ability to manage and develop people effectively.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Experience of influencing the senior management population.
  • Expert understanding of end-to-end IT solutions and the IT delivery lifecycle.
  • Experience of working in a transversal environment.
  • Experience in Stakeholder Management across multiple Operating Companies / Business Units.
  • Experience of HR line management, staff development, and performance management.
  • Proven experience of managing relationships with 3rd parties, including establishing contracts and managing Quality.
