About the Role
As a Project Manager within our UK Defence function, you’ll own the success of projects from end-to-end—delivering cost-effective, high-quality solutions that meet and exceed stakeholder expectations.
Your core responsibilities include:
- Leadership & Delivery: Drive project outcomes within agreed time, cost, and quality targets, ensuring strategic alignment.
- Stakeholder Management: Engage with customers, partners, and suppliers to build and maintain trusted relationships.
- Operational Excellence: Ensure all activities adhere to QinetiQ’s Operating Framework.
- Strategic Alignment: Work closely with management and business development to present compelling customer-focused briefings.
- Risk & Synergy: Proactively manage risks, challenges, and project synergies across campaigns.
You’ll champion transformative projects while ensuring seamless integration with wider business objectives.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop clear, compelling customer proposals that secure engagement and drive project success.
- Oversee stakeholder collaboration to maintain up-to-date project data and expectations.
- Champion project vision to management and business development, ensuring high-level campaign alignment.
- Foster strong relationships with clients, partners, and suppliers to achieve shared objectives.
- Adhere to corporate policies, systems, and procedures, including those governing acquisitions and programmes.

Essential Experience
- Demonstrated ability to deliver large-scale projects/ programmes within budget, timeline, and scope.
- Proven experience in framework-based procurement and delivery (e.g., Engineering Delivery Partnerships—EDP, or similar).
- Direct acquisition process experience in UK Defence or commercial defense sectors.
- Hands-on experience delivering diverse customer projects (minimum three).
- Advanced understanding of SAP project management tools.
- Experience in Agile project methodologies.
Essential Qualifications
- Industry-recognized project management certification (PRINCE2, Agile Project Management (APM), or PMP).
Note: We welcome candidates from all educational backgrounds if you can demonstrate relevant experience and adaptability.
Working Arrangement
This role is 37 hours per week, based at Farnborough, Bristol, or Hurn with a requirement to be on-site a minimum of three days per week.
