The Role
The Project Manager will take ownership of the delivery and installation process across multiple furniture projects.
You will act as the central point of communication between all relevant parties, identifying potential issues early and making sure that products, people, and sites are fully prepared ahead of installation.
This is a varied, hands-on position combining project planning, site coordination, logistics, supplier management, and client communication.
Key Responsibilities
Project Planning & Handover
- Monitor new projects once orders have been placed and uploaded to the project system.
- Support the sales team with programme timeframes during the tender process.
- Attend project handover meetings with the relevant salesperson.
- Check orders against furniture layouts and project plans, highlighting any discrepancies or areas of concern.
- Identify projects that are ready for handover once supplier order acknowledgements have been received.
- Make sure suppliers are being chased for outstanding order acknowledgements where necessary.
- Maintain clear and accurate project records throughout the delivery process.
Site Surveys & Programming
- Carry out site surveys and provide clear photographs and access information for tender submissions.
- Identify and report any concerns relating to access, storage, delivery, or installation.
- Arrange further site visits where required to confirm that the project can be delivered within the agreed programme.
- Attend contractor and client project meetings to agree installation dates and requirements.
- Make all necessary delivery bookings with site managers, building management teams, and clients.
- Attend site before and during installation where required.
Logistics & Installation
- Advise the sales team on installation costs based on product volume, site access, working hours, office moves, and reconfiguration requirements.
- Obtain and review installation quotations to ensure costs remain within the agreed project budget.
- Coordinate upcoming projects and installation programmes with subcontracted installation supervisors.
- Liaise with suppliers regarding production schedules and delivery dates.
- Monitor supplier order acknowledgements to ensure deliveries align with the project programme.
- Coordinate warehouse, freight, delivery, and installation requirements.
- Arrange the transportation of furniture to projects outside the UK where necessary.
- Issue delivery and installation purchase orders to subcontractors in line with agreed budgets.
- Review storage invoices and obtain the necessary cost approvals.

Compliance & Documentation
- Prepare and distribute RAMS and other project documentation to the relevant parties.
- Ensure site, delivery, and installation requirements are clearly communicated ahead of each project.
- Monitor project costs and work with sales and accounts teams to resolve any discrepancies.
- Ensure records are completed thoroughly, accurately, and securely.
- Follow all relevant health, safety, quality, and environmental procedures.
Installation, Snagging & Completion
- Liaise closely with the Installation Manager throughout the delivery and installation process.
- Attend installations as necessary to help resolve issues and maintain project progress.
- Communicate with clients and prepare clear snagging lists.
- Attend client handover meetings where required.
- Highlight outstanding work and secure client sign-off.
- Coordinate suppliers, installation teams, and clients to complete all snagging.
- Monitor the snagging programme through to final resolution.
- Sign off on projects for invoicing once all furniture has been delivered and any outstanding work is completed.
- Produce a final project completion report.
Client Support
- Visit new and existing clients to advise on the reconfiguration of furniture, office moves, and changes to existing spaces.
- Build positive relationships with clients, contractors, suppliers, and installation partners.
- Represent the company professionally across meetings, site visits, and installations.
Sustainability
Sustainability is an important part of how the company approaches project delivery. The Project Manager will help support this by:
- Ensuring third-party installers separate packaging for recycling.
- Requesting reusable protective packaging, including blankets, wherever possible.
- Reviewing sustainable developments across warehouse, delivery, and installation partners.
- Encouraging the use of electric and lower-emission delivery vehicles where practical.
- Supporting the sales team with logistics planning for furniture reuse and renewal projects.
- Participating in the company’s charitable and community initiatives.

About You
You will be organised, practical, and confident managing several projects at different stages. You should be comfortable taking ownership, communicating with a wide range of people, and calmly resolving challenges when plans change.
You will ideally bring:
- Experience managing furniture, interiors, workplace, or commercial installation projects.
- A strong understanding of furniture delivery, logistics, and installation.
- Experience coordinating suppliers, subcontractors, warehouses, and site teams.
- Confidence attending site surveys, contractor meetings, and installations.
- The ability to interpret furniture layouts, project programmes, and order information.
- Experience preparing or coordinating RAMS and site documentation.
- Strong commercial awareness and the ability to monitor project budgets.
- Excellent communication, organisation, and problem-solving skills.
- A careful, detail-focused approach to administration and project records.
- A proactive attitude and a willingness to take responsibility from handover through to completion.
Experience within a furniture dealership, workplace interiors company, furniture manufacturer, or commercial design-and-build business would be particularly relevant.
