Role Overview

We are seeking an experienced Project Manager to plan, lead, and deliver strategic business and technology initiatives across the organisation. The successful candidate will manage projects throughout the full lifecycle, ensuring delivery against agreed scope, budget, quality, and timelines while maintaining strong stakeholder engagement.

The Project Manager will collaborate with business leaders, technology teams, vendors, and external partners to drive successful project outcomes and support organisational transformation initiatives.

Job Title: Project Manager
Client: Nuveen, a TIAA company
Department: Technology / Business Transformation / PMO
Contract Duration: 6 months (high possibility of extension)
Work Mode: Hybrid (2–3 days per week in the London office)
Location: London, UK
Start Date: ASAP

Key Responsibilities

Project Planning & Delivery

  • Lead end-to-end project delivery from initiation through closure.
  • Define project scope, objectives, deliverables, and success criteria.
  • Develop and maintain project plans, schedules, budgets, and resource forecasts.
  • Monitor project progress and report status to senior stakeholders.
  • Manage project dependencies and critical paths.

Stakeholder Management

  • Build strong relationships with business and technology stakeholders.
  • Facilitate steering committee meetings and governance forums.
  • Communicate project risks, issues, and key decisions.
  • Ensure stakeholder expectations are effectively managed.

Risk & Issue Management

  • Maintain RAID (Risks, Assumptions, Issues, Dependencies) logs.
  • Identify and mitigate project risks proactively.
  • Escalate critical issues when required.
  • Drive resolution plans with accountable owners.

Governance & Reporting

  • Ensure projects comply with PMO standards and governance processes.
  • Produce weekly and monthly project status reports.
  • Track project KPIs, milestones, and financial performance.
  • Support portfolio-level reporting and planning activities.

Financial & Vendor Management

  • Monitor project budgets and forecast expenditure.
  • Manage third-party suppliers and delivery partners.
  • Review contracts, statements of work, and project deliverables.

  • Conduct lessons-learned sessions.
  • Promote best practices in project management.
  • Support PMO maturity and process improvements.

Required Skills & Experience

  • 7 - 10+ years of Project Management experience.
  • Proven track record delivering business and technology projects.
  • Strong stakeholder and executive communication skills.
  • Experience managing multiple concurrent projects.
  • Knowledge of Agile, Waterfall, or hybrid delivery methodologies.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities.
  • Advanced Microsoft Project, Excel, PowerPoint, and Teams skills.
  • Experience with risk, budget, and resource management.

Preferred Qualifications

  • PMP, PRINCE2, AgilePM, Scrum Master, or equivalent certification.
  • Experience in financial services, asset management, or investment organisations.
  • Experience working within PMO environments.
  • Knowledge of portfolio management and governance frameworks.
